I have been teaching in Dawson County since 1980.  I love being with children and teaching them Reading.  I attended Seward High School, the University of Nebraska Kearney, and attained a BA in Education.  I've enjoyed continuing my education with various graduate classes that were appropriate to my area of teaching.  

I am married to Richard (Dick) Helvey.  We have three married children and several grandchildren.  We are members of St. Ann's Church, and enjoy volunteering in our community.  My hobbies are reading, sewing, and yard work.
